The Movie
Imagine …
- If the 1966 Batman series had continued in the same serious vein as the pilot episode, "Hi Diddle Riddle"/"Smack In The Middle," and continued on ABC …
- If such a series was still being broadcast in 1969 …
- If such a series had a crossover with the crime drama The FBI, and was produced in much the same manner …
- And, if such a series had other DC Comics characters.
You get an idea ...
Batman 1969 is homage to the 1960s Batman series, as well as The FBI. At the same time, this fan film explores the Batman series, had it been done differently, and with more human moments.
Designed as the season opener for the 1969-70 season, Batman 1969 follows Bruce Wayne as he abandons his crimefighting after experiencing personal tragedy, notably the loss of the ladies he loves. His actions, however, affect other crime fighters as they battle an ever-increasing crime rate.
When Aunt Harriet suffers an attack, Bruce returns to his alter ego. By this time, Dick Greyson has gone off to college, leaving the Batman all alone.
But only momentary.
Catwoman slinks back to Batman's life, this time to fight alongside him. Other costumed crime fighters—and the FBI—join up with Batman in the battle to regain the stolen Moldavian Star from the clutches of Scarecrow and Mod crime boss Arthur Bender.
